Burner and element repairs are typically under an hour.
DCS range repair
DCS is Fisher & Paykel's professional cooking line, built around commercial-style burners and grills.
Gas ranges most often arrive with a burner that clicks endlessly without lighting. That is a spark module or a wet, misaligned igniter, and both are quick. Electric ranges more often lose a coil element or a radiant element under the glass.

Range repair symptoms on a DCS
These are the range faults we see on every brand. The DCS-specific ones are listed underneath.
Burner clicks but will not light
A wet or misaligned igniter, or a spark module firing on the wrong electrode. Cleaning and alignment fixes most of these.
One surface element stays cold
The element itself, the receptacle it plugs into, or the infinite switch behind the knob.
Burner flame is yellow or uneven
A blocked burner port or an air shutter out of adjustment. Yellow flame also means incomplete combustion, so it is worth attending to.
Element heats on full regardless of the setting
The infinite switch has welded its contacts closed. Replace it rather than working around it.
Touch controls unresponsive
Control panel or main board, sometimes after a spill got behind the glass.
Gas smell near the range
Shut the gas off at the valve, ventilate, and call the gas utility before you call us.
What tends to fail on DCS
- Burner igniters
- Grill and griddle elements
- Oven thermostats

Thank you so much! Great customer service. Came and fixed our washer, looks good as new! Hire him
Tim was very professional and did his job correctly but was sent a defective part. Ramin came and replaced the defective part and my stove works again. After an initial problem that wasn't their fault, masterfix did an excellent job. I would not hesitate to use them again. Thanks Tim and Ramin!
My dryer was fixed immediately and the contractor gave me filter change recommendations. However, it was not cheap.
Questions we get asked
- What goes wrong with DCS ranges?
- Burner igniters is the fault we attend most on this combination. DCS is Fisher & Paykel's professional cooking line, built around commercial-style burners and grills.
- One burner clicks constantly, even when it is off.
- Moisture in the switch or the igniter. Drying it out fixes a lot of them; if it does not, the switch is worn and needs replacing.
- Can you convert a range between natural gas and propane?
- Yes, where the manufacturer supplies a conversion kit for that model. It is a jet change plus a regulator adjustment.
- Do you service professional ranges?
- Yes, including Wolf, Viking, Thermador and Bertazzoni. Parts for these are less commonly stocked, so some jobs need a second visit.
- Do you carry DCS parts for this?
- We stock the common failures listed on this page. Anything model specific is ordered after the diagnosis, and we tell you the wait before you commit. Every part carries 90 days of warranty.
