GE Profile wine cooler repair

• Not cooling to the set temperature

  On thermoelectric units, a failed fan or Peltier module. On compressor units, the start relay or thermostat.

• One zone works, the other does not

  The damper, the second evaporator fan, or a sensor on the zone that has drifted.

• Running constantly and never cycling off

  A door seal that no longer closes, a condenser packed with dust, or a sensor reading high.

• Condensation inside the cabinet

  A seal problem or a blocked drain. Humidity control matters as much as temperature for stored wine.

• Noisy operation

  A fan hitting its shroud, or compressor mounts that have hardened with age.

• Display or lighting failure

  The control board or LED strip, independent of the cooling system.

What goes wrong with GE Profile wine coolers?

Induction cooktop inverter boards is the fault we attend most on this combination. GE Profile adds convection, induction and larger capacities to the GE platform. The extra electronics are also where most Profile faults sit.

My wine cooler is a few degrees off. Does that need fixing?

If it is stable and within about two degrees, it is a calibration question rather than a fault. If it is drifting steadily, something is failing.

Thermoelectric or compressor, which is more reliable?

Compressor units last longer and cope better with warm rooms. Thermoelectric units are quieter and have fewer parts to fail, but they struggle once the room passes about 77°F.

Do you service built-in and undercounter wine cabinets?

Yes, including Sub-Zero, U-Line, Marvel and Perlick units. Built-ins need pulling from the cabinet for most repairs.
